Day 15

Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.  But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about Him and were taught in Him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 4:17-24 ESV

Before you begin to pray, take a deep breath and quiet your thoughts. Focus on being in the presence of God. Thank God for hearing your prayers. Then read the scripture we will study next Sunday, Ephesians 4:17-24. Read it slowly, recognizing that God is speaking to you through His Word. If God puts something specific on your heart, pray about that today.

Thank. God changes everything, including the way we live once we know Christ. Thank God for the example He gave us in the life of Jesus and thank Him for someone in your life who has been a role model for your faith journey.

Adore. Our human nature leads us to sin, but God offers us change. Through His infinite love He sacrificed His Son in order to give us the opportunity to “put on the new self.”  Let’s adore God for His mercy and love.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

1 Peter 1:3

Confess. The offer of a new self is one of God’s greatest gifts to us, but if we’re honest, we often cling to our sinful ways and try to hide from God. Confess to God the times you have tried to hide from him. God forgives a contrite heart. He loves you.

Others.

CU Church: Pray for our High School ministry. Pray that staff (Adam) and volunteers who work with our youth be given the message that God would have them share with students. Pray that they have the energy and strength to support our students. Pray that our high schoolers hear and receive the gospel message and that they have the strength to share that message with others.
Community: Pray for the elementary schools in your community. Choose a specific group to pray for (students, teachers, administrators, support staff) or pray for a specific need you know exists.
Global Church:  Pray for the unity of the global church. Jesus himself taught us in John 17:20-21, “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” Pray that all believers are one so that the world believes in Jesus.

Self. God is listening. He loves you. Pray for any specific needs that you or your family have.
